About me

Hello, my name is Hannah Van Dyck, and I am your dedicated hairdresser at Studio One. I was raised in the suburbs of Houston alongside my parents, older brother, younger sister, and three dogs. Growing up immersed in Houston’s vibrant sports culture, I remain an enthusiastic supporter to this day. From an early age, I devoted much of my life to gymnastics, cheerleading, and swimming, which instilled discipline and passion that I carry into my work. Music also plays a significant role in my life, and when I am not in the salon, you will often find me attending live concerts, checking out the Houston restaurant scene or hanging out with my dogs.

About Studio One

Studio One by Hannah is a tribute to my late grandmother, Park Yu Sim. Arriving in the United States from Seoul, South Korea, in the early 1970s without knowing English, she devoted her life to raising her five children and, later, eleven grandchildren. Her Korean heritage has been a profound influence on our family, and this salon serves as my heartfelt tribute to her legacy.

In Korean, the name "Hannah" can be written as Hanna (한나) or Hana (하나). While Hanna is a transliteration of the Hebrew name, Hana is a Korean word meaning "one," symbolizing being first or most cherished. As the eldest granddaughter opening my first salon, there was no more fitting name than Studio One by Hannah. This salon is an embodiment of heritage, honor, and new beginnings.
